As you may recall, I absolutely loved I'd Tell You I Love You but Then I'd Have to Kill You, so when my copy of Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy finally arrived at the library, it jumped to the top of my reading pile*
To refresh quickly -- Cammie Morgan is a junior at the Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women -- or really, a boarding school for aspiring spies. In the first novel of the series, she goes to town on a class assignment and meets a normal boy. They start dating... chaos ensues... if you haven't read it yet, get thee to a library immediately!
When the second book begins, Cammie is returning to school after winter break (and after the rather traumatic events of the last semester). But something secret is going on -- an entire wing of the school has been closed off, and the teachers are whispering behind closed doors. And then, Cammie and her friends make a discovery -- that there might be another school just like theirs, but for BOYS!
Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy is just as fun and cute and wonderful as the first book, and I will definitely be recommending it to teens in the library. (As a side note, whenever I put I'd Tell You I Love You but Then I'd Have to Kill You on a display, it disappears almost immediately). My only teeny-tiny complaint is that we're probably going to have to wait another whole year for the third volume. *whine*
*Actually, it never really made it to the pile -- I started reading it on my lunch break!
