I already had this book checked out from the library-- but when it was nominated for the Cybils -- it jumped to the top of my reading list.
And it was a wonderfully fun read -- not all that profound, but purely fun.
Cammie Morgan is your average genius who goes to your average private school -- with one slight exception. Gallagher Academy may look like a normal private school, but it is, in fact, a spy school, where the students are trained to become CIA operatives or other such things. On her first mission for her CoveOps training class, Cammie accidentally meets a normal boy -- and that is where things get tricky. She and her friends use all of their spy training to investigate him, while at the same time, she is falling for him, and of course, she can't actually tell him anything about herself.
This novel will appeal to fans of Meg Cabot's books -- Cammie has much in common with Cabot's heroines, and the unrealistic (but very interesting) premise makes for a great escape. Fans of Harry Potter may also enjoy the descriptions of the school and the teachers. I would definitely recommend this for a quick light read.
