Wanted: Book Covers with pictures of Insects

This may seem like an unusual request, but I'm working on a display for Teen Summer Reading Program and I need books that can kind of look like insects* (the theme is metamorphosis). The problem is that I can search for books about insects, but there's no way to search by cover image. So I'm appealing to the experts, and hoping that with your collective wisdom, you might be able to suggest some more titles**. I'll post a picture of the display when we're all finished!

*I already have Psyche in a Dress, Scorpia, Gossamer (paperback), Tithe, Fairy Wars, Kissing the Bee, The Adoration of Jenna Fox, The Patron Saint of Butterflies, The Secret Rites of Social Butterflies, Fly on the Wall, The Hand of the Devil, a couple Animorphs titles, Lord of the Flies, and The House of the Scorpion.

**
I might also end up using books with flowers or plants too... so feel free to mention those titles in the comments as well

Wow, that's tough. The only one I can think of would be In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez. And that one only works if you have the right edition of the book. I'll keep thinking on it!

okay, just thought of The Field Guide to High School by Marissa Walsh.

Thanks Mindy! Both of those should work -- I'm printing pictures of the covers, so it doesn't matter if we actually have that same edition)

The Adoration of Jenna Fox is all I can think of.

Thanks Erin, I'll add it to the list!

Another one that has been brought to my attention that has a butterfly is Madapple by Christina Meldrum.

What an interesting idea for a display!

Thanks Mary P., I had just been looking at that title for something else, and hadn't even noticed the butterfly.

Kissing the Bee is my favorite Koja book to date.

I really adore The Adoration of Jenna Fox, and enjoyed The Patron Saint of Butterflies too.

What about the graphic novel version of Metamorphosis?

Arg. I've been hearing so many good things about both The Adoration of Jenna Fox and The Patron Saint of Butterflies, and I asked the library to order them, but they STILL haven't come in. And now, I'll have to try Kissing the Bee too :)

And thanks for the Metamorphosis suggestion, I really do need to include graphic novels too.

I think Betwixt by Tara Bray Smith would work (there's a moth or fly thing on the cover)

How I Found the Perfect Dress by Maryrose Wood has some butterflies on the cover. And so does its prequel, Why I Let My Hair Grow Out.

The Loser's Guide to Life and Love by A.E. Cannon has fireflies on the cover...but it doesn't come out until Jun 24.

anyway, when i saw that your library's Teen Summer Reading Program's theme was metamorphosis, i was like totally freaked out - that's my library's too!!! so, i was trying to figure out who you were, until i realized we live on opposite side of the US! (i'm in CA). hehe. do you think the theme was planned? or just a freaky coincidence?

well, thanks for linking my review of Beastly (i never would've found this site if you hadnt!!)

Thanks, Book Muncher! And I'm sorry to take so long to respond to your comment (I was on vacation this past week) I did find Betwixt somehow or other, and I'm going to have to look for the other ones!

And actually, I think the theme comes from some national conglomerate thingy of state library systems, and they make all of the reading logs, etc.

p.s. I've added your blog to my rss reader, and I'm really enjoying it! :)
